"Lindsey Steinert brought my daughter and me to tears in her heart-wrenching portrayal of Nicole Cianci." - Providence Journal "Steinert's performance (as Marie Antoinette) is particularly exceptional...(she) shifts her performance from madcap fun in Act I to somber reservation in Act II with ease." - Broadway World
About Me
I am a New York-based actor who just returned to the City after a 3 year hiatus in Providence, Rhode Island where I received my MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep. Prior to graduate school, I attended the Honors College at Pace University, where I received a dual Bachelor of Arts Degree in Acting and Sociology/Anthropology, as well as a minor in Peace and Justice Studies. As a firm believer that the best actors are educated actors, receiving a liberal arts education in addition to my acting training has been an essential component to my growth as an artist.
In October 2015 my one-woman show, Upstream Swimming, premiered Off-Broadway at Theatre Row. The show was the first known solo piece to be written, produced and performed by a child of same-sex parents about growing up with two gay dads. This lead to exciting opportunities like contributing to the Huffington Postand becoming a member of the Family Equality Council's Outspoken Generation.
